About the role

The College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona invites applications for a non-tenure track position in Applied Aviation Sciences Department starting in August 2026 at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the field of air traffic management.

Responsibilities

• Teach lecture courses focused on air traffic control procedures and techniques based on current standards and demands of the national airspace.
• Teach air traffic basics courses in a way that is coherent and understandable to students with little-to-no previous aviation knowledge.
• Mentor students as part of their appointment.
• Develop and teach classroom and laboratory courses across all levels of undergraduate education in basics of understanding, and advanced skillsets in the industry.
• Commit to undergraduate education both in the classroom and through experiential learning opportunities.

Requirements

• Master's Degree or Bachelors Degree with requisite industry experience.
• FAA Air Traffic Control Specialist Certification.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills, being willing to work one-on-one with air traffic program students.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates hold a master's or bachelor's degree, but with extensive work experience in the field, the requirement of a degree may be omitted.
• Applicants should provide statements on their professional air traffic control background and the names and contact information of three professional references.
