Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X, In-Residence, Adjunct) Vascular & Endovascular Surgery
Salary is determined by appointment type, rank, and/or step, with a pay range of $350,000 - $550,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
About the role
The University of California, San Diego, Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, seeks to recruit vascular and endovascular surgeons with a focus on open and endovascular surgery, clinical care, and research. The selected candidates will teach medical students, residents, and fellows; conduct independent research; and oversee all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. Available series include:
- HS Clinical Professor (APM 278)
- Clinical X Professor (APM 275)
- In-Residence Professor (APM 270)
- Adjunct Professor (APM 280)
Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. If appointed to a title covered by the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware of limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
Responsibilities
- Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in vascular and endovascular surgery
- Conducting independent research
- Providing clinical patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
Requirements
- MD or equivalent degree
- Board eligible or board certified in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery
- Completion of, or on track to complete, a 0+5 or 5+2 fellowship program in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery
- Eligibility for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching residents and fellows in vascular surgery
- Record of independent research and publications
- Experience providing clinical patient care
