About the role

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) seeks exceptional candidates for faculty positions in the UCSD School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine. The department operates three Emergency Departments with a combined annual census of nearly 150,000 patients, including a Level 1 Trauma Center. It offers robust residency training programs and subspecialty divisions in Toxicology, Hyperbarics, EMS, Emergency Critical Care, and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The department is known for its strong extramural research funding and serves as an NIH SIREN site.

The selected candidates will provide high-quality training and teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows, and will be responsible for clinical care of patients and/or conducting research.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD in a health-related field.
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Emergency Medicine.
  • Hold, or be eligible for, a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board.
  • At least 1 year of experience in hyperbaric medicine, toxicology, ultrasound, critical care, informatics, emergency medical services (EMS), or international emergency medicine is preferred.
