Position Description
The Division of Nephrology-Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at UC San Diego seeks investigators with expertise in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) to support its expanding research portfolio.
The selected candidate will:
- Conduct research focused on CKD with an emphasis on how mitochondrial dysfunction and microvascular injury contribute to physical and functional decline.
- Contribute to identifying new biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
- Participate in teaching and training students, residents, and/or fellows.
- Have opportunities for broader leadership responsibilities within the division.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications (Required at Time of Application): MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in a health-related field.
- PREFERRED Qualifications: Minimum one year of experience designing and evaluating clinical trials or observational studies related to kidney disease.
