Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research, College of Pharmacy, University of Florida – tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

About the role

The department seeks promising or accomplished scientists with expertise in clinical and translational research, including precision medicine, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug metabolism. Appointment as an Associate Professor requires demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, research, scholarship, and teaching proficiency consistent with a research-intensive university. Assistant Professor candidates must show strong potential for establishing a rigorous, independent, federally-funded research program. All faculty contribute to professional and graduate education programs. The position may be based at the Gainesville or Lake Nona Campus. Areas of specialization should complement the department and the Center for Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent, federally-funded clinical and translational research.
• Participate in professional and graduate instructional efforts of the College.
• Mentor PharmD students, PhD students, and post-doctoral research associates.
• Collaborate in team-based research with trainees, faculty, and external partners.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D. or Pharm.D.) with formal postdoctoral research training.
• Strong potential for or demonstrated success in securing competitive research funding.
• Record of research accomplishments and publications.
• Excellent teaching and communication skills.

Qualifications

Assistant Professor

• Highest degree appropriate to the field or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience pertinent to the position and alignment with department goals.

Associate Professor

• Highest degree appropriate to the field or professional qualifications beyond it.
• Distinguished record of achievement beyond the assistant professor level.
• Creative work, professional writing, research, and successful teaching or professional experience.

Full Professor

• Qualified for the rank of associate professor.
• Recognized national or international authority or outstanding teacher in the field.
• Distinguished record of achievement beyond the associate professor level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience and student mentoring.
• Extramurally-funded research program and strong publication record.
• Understanding of patient care for training and mentoring students.
• Soft skills and clear written/verbal communication for collaborative research.
