The University of Florida College of Nursing seeks individuals who can contribute to research and teaching in the following areas:

  • Palliative care
  • Pain and symptom science
  • Bioinformatics, big data & data science
  • Maternal & infant health
  • Aging

Responsibilities

  • Research:
    • Assistant Professor: Advance a defined program of research leading to extramural funding.
    • Associate/Full Professor: Maintain a focused, extramurally funded program of research.
    • Collaborate with and lead interdisciplinary research teams.
    • Mentor early career faculty, commensurate with rank.
  • Teaching:
    • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research.
    • Teach courses in areas of expertise.
  • Service:
    • Provide professional service to the college, university, and profession commensurate with rank.

Requirements

  • PhD in Nursing or a related discipline from an accredited institution by date of hire.
  • Eligible for Florida nursing licensure.
  • A program of research and scholarly activity focused on one or more of the following areas:
    • Palliative care
    • Pain and symptom science
    • Bioinformatics, big data & data science
    • Maternal & infant health
    • Aging
  • A sustained record of research and extramural funding commensurate with rank.
  • A sustained publication record commensurate with rank.
  • Eligible for appointment at assistant, associate, or full professor rank based on research, teaching, and service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate/Full Professors: Eligible for tenure based on a distinguished record of teaching, research, and service.
  • Experience mentoring doctoral students and early career faculty.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate education.
  • Evidence of leadership in the profession of nursing.
