About the Role

The Assistant Administrator assists in overall facility operations to provide quality patient care and supports the direction of all department functions within corporate and facility policies, approved budgets, and applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or health care field from an accredited college or university
  • Completed one full year of the Administrator In Training (AIT) program OR previous experience as an Assistant Administrator
  • Active State license in good standing as a Nursing Home Administrator or be in the process of obtaining licensure

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Read and interpret financial records and reports
  • Demonstrate effective people skills with patients, staff, families, vendors, and the community
  • Effectively communicate policies, procedures, regulations, and reports to staff, patients, families, visitors, government agencies, and the community
  • Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for providing quality care and maintaining sound operations
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Knowledgeable of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Perform proficiently in competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
  • Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to the organization’s Code of Conduct and complete mandatory training
  • Assist with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing facility programs to ensure quality patient care
  • Act as the administrator in the Executive Director’s absence
  • Assist with supervision of facility departments
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
