About the role

The Assets Protection Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading a security culture, implementing daily/weekly workload priorities, responding to theft incidents, and partnering with store business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure team members understand and consistently deliver on Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Actively observe and provide feedback to team members, holding them accountable while recognizing great moments.
  • Review and manage area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities and align team on the right behaviors and execution.
  • Support total store sales and increase profitability by ensuring products are in stock and available to guests.
  • Influence and validate physical security and safety processes; participate in store response and emergency crisis situations.
  • Develop, coach, and lead team members to elevate their skills and expertise.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and support talent planning.
  • Identify theft and shortage trends in the store.
  • Implement and follow up on any operational changes as directed.
  • Support store leadership on operational shortage priorities.
  • Order merchandise protection devices as needed.
  • Communicate AP priorities to the team, peers, and leadership.
  • Build relationships inside and outside Target, including with store leaders and law enforcement.
  • Support team onboarding and learning, and close knowledge and skill gaps through training and experience.
  • Model the execution of physical security processes to enhance the in-store security culture.
  • Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.).

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old or older.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Previous retail and/or loss prevention experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude.
  • Effective communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
  • Must be able to interpret instructions, reports, and information.
  • Must be able to climb up and down ladders.
  • Must be able to apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
  • Must be able to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds without additional assistance.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Pay

The starting pay range for this position per hour is $22.00 - $24.00. The full pay range for this position per hour is $22.00 - $37.40. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience, and certifications.

Schedule

The role requires a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to align with security and theft patterns.
