Responsibilities

• Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins.
• Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
• Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
• Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
• Organize/prioritize tasks/projects.
• Be familiar with loss prevention terms and processes.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office skills.
• Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Detest and/or detain external theft suspects.
• Reduce customer and associate dishonesty by initiating and encouraging actions to prevent external and internal theft.
• Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends on a regular basis.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.
• Bachelors degree in criminal justice.
• Retail security experience.
• Law enforcement experience.
• Ability to continue education.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a combination of relevant education and experience.
• Minimum 18 years of age/21 years of age in Alaska.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
