Responsibilities
- Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins.
- Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
- Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
- Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
- Organize/prioritize tasks/projects.
- Be familiar with loss prevention terms and processes.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office skills.
- Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
- Detest and/or detain external theft suspects.
- Reduce customer and associate dishonesty by initiating and encouraging actions to prevent external and internal theft.
- Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends on a regular basis.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.
- Bachelors degree in criminal justice.
- Retail security experience.
- Law enforcement experience.
- Ability to continue education.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum 18 years of age/21 years of age in Alaska.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
