About the role

As an Asset Manager within PNC's Midland organization, you will oversee portfolios and/or Borrower requests of routine to medium complexity for securitized CMBS, Agency, SASB, SFR, or other portfolios comprised of loans secured by income-producing commercial real estate. You will analyze financial reports, review loan documents, evaluate credit risk, prepare formal recommendations, and engage in frequent communication with external parties such as borrowers, legal counsel, rating agencies, special servicers, and investors.

Responsibilities

  • Forward all required documentation and key loan details to the designated Special Servicer to initiate the review and processing of a borrower request.
  • Collaborate closely with Special Servicers to provide context, share due diligence materials, and ensure a consistent understanding of the loan’s status and risks.
  • Monitor assigned mailboxes for each Special Servicer.
  • Update comments on each referred matters task in a timely manner.
  • Track and follow up on all outstanding referred requests.
  • Review, image, and disseminate Special Servicer’s completed consent packages and circulate them to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Ensure completion of tasks related to conditional approval from a Special Servicer.
  • Process relevant fees and disbursements.
  • Analyze various financial reports, including property operating statements, loan guarantor financials, loan-level covenants, and market economic data.
  • Review and interpret complex loan document and servicing agreement provisions.
  • Evaluate credit risk and propose risk mitigants using a working knowledge of commercial real estate, industry terminology, and real estate capital markets while adhering to established procedures.
  • Prepare and present formal recommendations for approval in accordance with applicable delegations of authority.
  • Engage in frequent verbal and written communication with external parties, which may include borrowers, internal and external legal counsel, rating agencies, special servicers, and investors.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal business partners and leverage commercial real estate expertise to assist with cross-departmental decision-making.

Requirements

Roles at this level typically require a university/college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

  • Preferred Skills: Asset Management, Decision Making, Financial Accounting, Financial Management, General Ledger (GL), Investment Management, Revenue Recognition.
  • Competencies: Data Gathering and Reporting, Decision Making and Critical Thinking, Effective Communications, Financial Statement Analysis, Investment Reporting, Managing Multiple Priorities, Market Risk, Negotiating, Problem Solving, Regulatory Environment - Financial Services.

Education

Bachelor’s degree.
