About the role

The successful candidate will play a critical role in helping clients manage risks related to asset integrity, improve the reliability of their operations, and extend the service life of critical assets.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multiple clients to identify and manage risks associated with asset integrity across tanks, piping, pressure vessels, production equipment, and structural assets.
  • Conduct failure analyses and degradation assessments to determine root causes and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Design and implement inspection programs, including risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies, aligned with industry best practices and client needs.
  • Provide clear, actionable recommendations to extend asset life while mitigating operational, environmental, and safety risks.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations tailored to both technical and management-level stakeholders.
  • Perform regular site visits to client operations, ensuring firsthand understanding of equipment, processes, and operating conditions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, quickly assessing client challenges and proposing effective strategies for asset integrity management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Materials, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering (advanced degree considered an asset).
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, ideally in the mining or metallurgical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of asset degradation mechanisms, inspection planning, and risk-based methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze technical issues, identify risks, and deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage directly with clients at all organizational levels.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites as required.
