Essential Functions
- Actively participates in a business development plan to increase the loan and deposit portfolio of asset based relationships within assigned market
- Develop consultative relationships with prospects to add value by delivering appropriate banking solutions
- Manage the flow of loan requests through the appropriate channels to ensure the credit quality, responsiveness, structure, and pricing meets the needs of the prospect and the operating objectives of the Bank
- Closely monitor and assist with the underwriting and closing process. Keep prospect informed throughout the process
- Develop a top prospect list in each assigned market
- Collaborate effectively with appropriate business partners throughout the Bank
- Develop solid relationships with commercial bankers and leaders in assigned markets
- Creatively structure opportunities with a focus on “holistic” and win/win solutions
- Pre-screen opportunities with manager or others within SSCF
- Aid in the screening of loan requests within the parameters of the Bank’s and SSCF’s policies and procedures
- Partner with Relationship Management/Underwriting and Credit to properly risk grade new opportunities
- Price each loan and deposit product according to current Bank pricing guidelines
- Document the credit quality, current competitive factors, or overall relationship circumstances that justify departures from the approved Bank pricing guidelines
- Demonstrate a commitment to fair lending practices
- Build and maintain a positive working relationship with COI’s and others in the community to enhance the Bank’s and SSCF’s image and reputation in the marketplace
- Establish and deepen relationships with prospects, COI’s and referral sources
- Be a superior team player within SouthState Capital Finance and throughout the Bank
- Practice and employ the “Sundown Rule”

Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, banking, or related field is required
- Experience: Minimum of 10 plus years commercial lending or portfolio management experience; Experience should include previous loan structuring and credit analysis responsibilities
- Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Great interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Asset-based, leveraged finance and/or secured lending experience preferred

Physical Demands
- Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports
- This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk
Work Environment
- This position is located in a private office
- Travel is required
