About the role
As an Assessment Specialist, you will receive inquiry calls and assist callers with scheduling a face-to-face assessment. You will also assess or ensure assessments by qualified mental health professionals, screen for medical and behavioral emergencies, perform comprehensive assessments, coordinate with the clinical team and on-call physician, interpret treatment to patients and families, and help reduce barriers to care.
Responsibilities
- Receives inquiry calls and assists the caller with scheduling a face-to-face assessment to triage to the appropriate community referral
- Affirms or ensures assessment by a qualified mental health professional of patients who present for assessment
- Screens for medical and behavioral emergency conditions
- Performs a comprehensive assessment and quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis or psychiatric or emotional disorders
- Counsels patients and families to help reduce fear and other attitudes obstructing acceptance of care and continuation of treatment
- Coordinates with the clinical team/on-call physician to ensure these needs are met either at the facility or other appropriate community provider

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of OH
- Associate's degree in nursing
- Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- CPR and de-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Pay
Hourly range: $25.89-$34.96 per hour
Schedule
PRN (as needed)
