About the role

As an Assessment Specialist at Beckett Springs, you will play a crucial role in facilitating responses to requests for services, conducting initial evaluations, documenting patient needs, and providing information to medical professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the initial response, assessment, and referral process for requests for services
  • Designate appropriate levels of care and admit patients into services
  • Document patient symptomology, functioning, and needs for medical documentation
  • Provide information to medical professionals for Location of Care (LOC) determinations
  • Assist patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers with prompt and courteous customer service
  • Maintain accurate pre-admission and admission paperwork and complete pre-certification with insurance companies
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes, as well as EMTALA and LAM

Requirements

  • Current clinical, social work, or RN license in the state of Ohio
  • Associate's degree in nursing or Master's degree in social work or counseling
  • Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients
  • Strong clinical assessment skills
  • CPR and de-escalation certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire)

Qualifications

Applicants must have a current clinical, social work, or RN license in the state of Ohio. Additional qualifications include an Associate's degree in nursing or a Master's degree in social work or counseling, prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, strong clinical assessment skills, and CPR and de-escalation certification.

Skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills, strong clinical assessment abilities, and knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and procedures are essential.
