About the role
This individual is responsible for the oversight of Assessment Operations and staff. This person serves as a point of contact for all matters related to assessments, PA WITS, and escalated utilization management decisions. The individual works closely with multidisciplinary teams, including but not limited to medical, clinical, all management team members, police, probation and parole, and all other stakeholders and the public.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the assessment staff perform the appropriate battery of assessments and screenings to obtain the necessary information for the appropriate LOC recommendation.
- Develop processes and procedures for assessments that optimize patient outcomes and cost efficiency of services.
- Work with the management team on decisions for quality, accuracy, and adherence to established criteria.
- Oversee the full admissions lifecycle, including inquiry response, interviewing, application review, decisioning, and onboarding.
- Ensure admissions policies, procedures, and eligibility criteria are consistently applied and compliant with institutional and regulatory standards.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and conferences; reviews professional publications; establishes personal networks, participates in professional societies.
- Evaluate programs and staff effectiveness.
- Exercise sound judgment in developing, implementing, interpreting and evaluating program policies, procedures and regulations.
- Provide supervision, management and leadership, which promotes good staff morale.
- Develop and train direct and indirect reports.
- Meet deadlines and goals as an independent contributor and as a supervisor of direct reports.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of stakeholder audiences.
- Navigate and utilize Microsoft Office Suites and Electronic Health Record System.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a recognized clinical discipline.
- Must hold clinical licensure in Pennsylvania. (LPC, LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, PsyD).
- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment.
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- Possess a solid knowledge of pre-assessment and pre-certification review processes and must be able to perform appeal reviews.
- Develop standard procedures and policies for completing assessment paperwork, charting and client information to be used by the program and the UR department.
- Evaluate programs and staff effectiveness.
