About the role
The Assessment and Data Information Specialist 3 plays a crucial role in aligning with the Northwest Regional Education Service District's mission to improve student learning by providing equitable access to high-quality services and support. This position involves advanced understanding of data models, data sets, and producing a wide variety of queries and dynamic reports tied to strategic plans and department-specific goals.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with numerous departments across NWRESD and component districts to identify needs and develop reports for end users.
- Provides data literacy support for educator teams and ensures their data collection systems are user-friendly.
- Conducts advanced small-to-large scale data, statistical, and mathematical analysis, and query or database program optimization.
- Develops and delivers training that models appropriate use of technology in an instructional setting.
- Data mines from and reports development from Infinite Visions, Synergy, ECWeb, and other district and ESD data sources.
- Works with stakeholders to create new reports or modify existing reports for program evaluations, grant applications, and other related needs; provides status updates and findings throughout projects, analysis, or the reporting cycle to key stakeholders.
- Efficiently produces polished and clear data reports for end users.
- Performs comparative analysis of data sets with respect to state reporting, auditing, and district guidelines.
- Utilizes best practices to create, automate, and standardize queries and reports; prepares and presents recommendations, and implements solutions for the reduction of manual report generation or distribution.
- Initiates, develops, and implements procedures, priorities, and timelines for data cleanup to ensure data availability for reporting timelines and other annual reporting processes and requirements; maintains and distributes recurring reports, ensuring they meet requirements and are submitted in a timely manner to remain compliant with NWRESD, local, state, federal, and other reporting agencies.
- Documents requirements for current production report requests, both small and large.
- Collaborates with the Director of Research, Assessment, and Evaluation in all phases of academic data testing and reporting.
- Keeps current on research design, statistical methodologies in education; attends and participates in meetings, conferences, and seminars relevant to new developments in assessment, reporting requirements, compliance, data collection, analysis, and distribution; leads, attends, and participates in a variety of meetings, in-service trainings, workshops, conferences, and seminars relevant to data analysis and reporting.
- Documents current reporting environment and processes.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in a Data Science, Social Sciences, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience/training and college coursework considered.
- Experience in a similar role and/or knowledge, experience, and skills to successfully perform the responsibilities listed.
- Expertise with Student Information Systems.
- Expertise with various data dashboarding and report development tools.
- Expertise with SQL (Structured Query Language) script development.
- Experience with statistical modeling software (SPSS, R) preferred.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Professional Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
- Valid Drivers License; available transportation and proof of auto insurance.
- Bilingual and biliteracy skills preferred.
