About the role

The Moog Military Aircraft Group is seeking an Assembly & Test Technician II for their 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm) position in Torrance, CA. This role reports to the Assembly and Test Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators
  • Adjust or align through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits
  • Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as: Dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices
  • Perform various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic test equipment, fixtures and tools
  • Diagnose common test failures and recommends or performs rework to correct discrepancies
  • Hold problem units for engineering disposition
  • Ensure that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and brings to the Supervisor’s attention any condition that is abnormal
  • Test repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures
  • Utilize mechanical or electronic measuring equipment and perform tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements
  • Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR and WDS systems
  • Responsible for proper documentation of parts replaced and work performed on data sheets

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 3 years or more of Assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic)
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Experience performing precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment such as: Dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers
  • Experience with diagnosing/troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures
  • Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Possess or be able to obtain Security Clearance

Qualifications

  • Must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

$28.00–$36.00 Hourly Salary Range
