About the role
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a production team to ensure manufacturing operations align with established specifications and schedules. Support team members at Mercedes-Benz Vans in building state-of-the-art vans for the American automotive market. This position is for 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and participate in team and group meetings
- Support vehicle assembly at assigned work stations on a moving assembly line by following defined procedures
- Assist with minor product or component assembly within routine and highly repetitive operations
- Transport necessary materials and parts to designated areas of the assembly line
- Perform basic equipment adjustments and routine maintenance
- Perform miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning and maintaining the work area
- Work according to established trade and shop practices and defined procedures
- Complete and ensure availability of appropriate documentation related to the production process
- All other duties as assigned
Technical Supervisory Responsibilities
- Mastery of work responsibilities
- Regular co-working at assigned work stations
- Act as reliever/supporter for team members with minimal qualifications
- Provide short-term replacement for scheduled or unscheduled absences
- Identify and eradicate non-standard components
- Support assembly of vans with special equipment
- Function as utility person and replacement to ensure workflow continuity
- Control material availability and verify installation as needed
- Support resolution of team internal cooperation problems
- Report disruptions and organize disruption management
Requirements
- Completed MBV Team Leader Training Program
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- 0-2 years of experience
