What Will You Do?
- Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials to meet production goals.
- Examines items produced to determine if items meet specifications.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces policies and safety regulations.
- Interprets specifications, drawings, and job orders to subordinates, and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Check inventory to ascertain that all necessary parts and quantities are available and if necessary, confer with purchasing department.
- Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure improved production methods, tools and equipment maintenance and inventory, and quality of product.
- Meet production quotas and maintain quality standards.
- Responsible for training new employees.
- Thorough knowledge of activities of workers supervised.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with 5S standards.
- Responsible for 3 Tier meetings with employees.
- Follow written standard work and be able to develop standard work and maintain.
- Responsible for updating production boards, hourly.
- Aid in driving the job rotation program.
- May provide input on performance appraisal, rewarding, disciplinary actions, addressing complaints and resolving problems for employees in group.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires 18 months of on-the-job experience (or supervisor's discretion).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, production work orders and procedure manuals.
- Ability to complete paperwork and correspondence.
- Must possess good communication skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
