Assembly Host - Part-Time

Responsibilities

• Greet arriving customers, seat them, establish rapport and assist with restaurant service.
• Receive and process payment for restaurant charges.
• Escort customers to assigned tables, issue menus, and solicit rapport to accommodate special needs or requests.
• Assign sections and notify servers of new seats in their section to ensure immediate and proper attention.
• Maintain a visible presence in the restaurant by circulating and assisting servers, responding to customer requests, and assessing operation efficiency for management.
• Process transactions on a computerized cash register, count back change out loud, verify accuracy of guest checks, and distribute and account for all checks issued to servers.
• Elicit feedback from departing customers on products and services to improve operations and increase revenue.
• Take written notes to report comments to management and balance and reconcile computerized and manual reports at the end of each shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience of 3 months in a position with heavy cash handling responsibilities and customer service exposure.
• Knowledge of high school graduate level mathematical aptitude, standard cash handling procedures, and computerized cash register systems.
• General knowledge of customer service skills, restaurant operations, and food service principles.

• Handling coins, writing utensils, grasping handles, pushing buttons, and carrying dishes.
• Lifting arms above head to retrieve objects from shelves.
• Standing throughout the entire shift.
• Communicating verbally and in writing in English, following written and verbal instructions, and working on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and emotionally charged situations.
• Having vision ability to read written communications, computer screens, and print-outs, see colors, and survey the entire room in dimly lit conditions.
