Responsibilities
- Perform Assembly Lead-Person duties and responsibilities for multiple production lines.
- Identify aptitude and skills strengths of individual employees and position employees on jobs to achieve or exceed established production standards.
- Audit parts (BOM) and process inputs to ensure quality and integrity of the product.
- Demonstrate ability to run production following the “standard work” and BOM in a “one piece flow” format.
- Demonstrate good problem solving skills and ability to find solutions to quality, scrap, material handling and productivity issues.
- Schedule and direct an entire supervisory assigned area in Supervisor’s absence.
- Demonstrate good judgment and decision making skills.
- Develop and implement production method and cost reduction improvements.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers.
- Demonstrate ability to work with employees and demonstrate ability to motivate people to perform at a high level.
- Maintain exceptionally high quality standards.
- Demonstrate mechanical ability and repair minor machine problems to minimize downtime.
- Instruct and train lead persons and material handlers in proper methods and procedures.
- Be knowledgeable with the AS400 for BOM, “standard work”, Inventory Control (inventory and material movement inquiry) functions, etc. and expert with all departmental documentation and operating procedures, including but not limited to printing labels, BOM and making transactions as necessary to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain an exceptionally clean and safe workplace, reporting all safety hazards.
- Maintain a high level of understanding of lean practices and sustainment thereof.
- Measure and keep records on the line as necessary.
- Do quality audits as necessary (Ratio checks, tester checks etc.) and maintain records as needed.

Qualifications
- Desire to coach and train within a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively to operators and supervision.
- Strong product knowledge.
- Ability to use department hand tools and machinery safely and understand their use and function.
- Read prints and be familiar with the tools to measure them.
- Understand general workings of a PC and be able to utilize Word and Excel programs.
- Strong knowledge of the AS400.
- Excellent attendance is a requirement for this position.
- The ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
- Good written as well as verbal skills.
- Ability to solve general math problems and understand percentages.
- Ability to visualize, articulate and solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts, and make decisions that make sense.
- The ability to understand, accept and embrace change is necessary for the development of the department.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- The ability to speak Spanish is a plus for this position.
