Assembler II

About the role

The Mechanical Assembler position at HMH is responsible for assembling components according to assembly drawings and bill of materials, performing functional tests on assemblies, and operating test equipment in compliance with engineering standards. This role also involves applying settings, calibrating, and maintaining assembly tools.

Responsibilities

• Assembles components per assembly drawings / bill of material
• Performs functional testing on assemblies
• Tests assemblies per customer and/or division criteria
• Operates test equipment in compliance with engineering standards
• Applies settings, calibrates and maintains assembly tools
• Regularly provides informal guidance and support to less experienced team members
• Executes daily priorities as defined by the supervisor or area lead
• Completes work with a limited degree of supervision

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years mechanical assembly experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced and noisy work environment
• Must be able to work both inside and outside in various weather conditions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years mechanical assembly experience

Desired Characteristics

• 3+ years of instrumentation and tubing experience
• Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
• Demonstrated ability to read hydraulic schematics
• Experience working with offshore drilling equipment, specifically BOP and surface control equipment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and adherence to processes and policies
• Experience with Oracle or SAP
• Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language
• High attention to detail, accuracy with numbers
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy and order

Schedule

6:30AM – 3:00PM Monday through Friday (with week-day and weekend overtime as required).
