About the Role
American Emergency Vehicles (AEV), a custom ambulance manufacturer for Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 ambulances, is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. AEV is part of Terex Corporation, a global leader in specialized vehicles and equipment. This role involves installing and assembling ambulance components, ensuring quality and safety standards, and leading production tasks.
Responsibilities
- Installing and mounting non-electrical and electrical interior/exterior components and hardware.
- Assembling fabricated parts, components, or other units at stations.
- Reading blueprints and engineering specifications.
- Ensuring safety requirements and manufacturing quality are met.
- Cleaning and inspecting products for quality standards.
- Leading and assisting personnel in the completion of daily production tasks.
- Communicating tasks and instructions to work cell personnel.
- Ensuring all parts are ordered and processed through the system.
- Leading machine operators and coordinating interdepartmental communication.
- Designing graphics for ambulances and working closely with dealers and customers.
Requirements
- Preferred 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements.
- Ability to use common hand tools and power tools (e.g., drills, screw guns, caulk guns).
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate professionally.
- Successful completion of drug and background screening.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with all aspects and processes of the assigned department.
- Ability to qualify for the highest ranking job classification within the department.
- Experience with graphic design and quoting for ambulance graphics.
Physical Demands
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing up and down ladders.
- Ability to operate and understand protective safety equipment.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments.
