Assembler I- Fiberglass Sander

About the role

Goldshield has set the bar in the fiberglass industry since 1982. Our facility is located in Decatur, Indiana, where we manufacture fiberglass parts for Fleetwood, Honda, and Daimler, as well as for school buses, emergency vehicles, and heavy-duty trucks. Goldshield is part of Terex Corporation, a global designer and manufacturer of specialized vehicles and equipment, including fire and emergency vehicles, waste and recycling equipment, RVs, and machinery supporting construction, utilities, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Sanding gelcoat surfaces to prepare parts for primer and paint application.
• Performing sanding duties while meeting quality and quantity standards.
• Maintaining tools, equipment, materials, and supplies with minimal scrap.
• Following housekeeping and safety standards at all times.
• Supporting production needs across the sanding area when assigned.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1-year experience in sanding, fiberglass, paint prep, finishing, manufacturing, or production.
• Preferred high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to complete required Goldshield training certification.
• Ability to maintain quality standards while preparing fiberglass surfaces.
• Ability to communicate professionally and work well with other employees.
• Successful completion of the drug and background screening.

Physical demands

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role as outlined in the worksteps process.
• Ability to work around noise levels below 80 dB.
• Ability to work with exposure to styrene vapor below 50 ppm.
• Ability to work with exposure to fiberglass dust.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch and overtime as needed.
