About the role

This Assembler 2nd Shift position is responsible for safely performing high-level repetitive work to quality standards in a manufacturing environment. You will perform a variety of tasks related to the building (assembly) of Trane products including commercial HVAC units. Tasks may vary by work area and assignments may change based on business demand.

Shift Hours: Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2:00am. Work is on-site (5 days a week).

Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive progressive line assembly of parts and sub-assemblies in accordance with predetermined DFT methods and sequences.
• Tasks include brazing, soldering, operating machines and presses, hanging and unhanging parts, and performing quality checks and tests.
• Read, understand, and apply method sheets, assembly diagrams, and follow verbal (written and oral) directions.
• Use senses (sight, hearing, smell) to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions.
• Read print drawings to determine dimensions, design, and materials for construction.
• Operate power pneumatic and hand tools required for performing job duties.
• Use measuring devices such as tape measures and levels.
• Load and unload units onto conveyors and carts.
• Read, learn, and follow OMSs for construction.
• Maintain and inspect tools and equipment; create work orders for repairs as needed.
• Support the QMS by delivering quality products and services and meeting quality objectives.
• Consistently meet and exceed customer requirements.
• Participate in operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Work in a team environment and assist co-workers as needed.
• Perform general housekeeping of the work area.
• Suggest process improvement ideas.
• All other duties as assigned by the supervisor/team leader.

Requirements

• One (1) year in manufacturing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools including wrenches, sockets, hammers, tape measures, crimpers, cutters, and steel banding.
• Experience operating fork trucks and hoists preferred.
• Ability to utilize computer systems.
• Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems.
• Knowledge and ability to apply basic math skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to use equipment and maintain a general understanding of business processes.
• Knowledge of and willingness to comply with all general work rules, policies, and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
• Ability to sit or stand for the majority of a normal workday.
• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ability to reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
• Work safely in all areas of responsibility.
• Effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external associates, both written and orally.

This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.

Pay

Hourly base pay: $22.00. This is a non-incentive, non-commission eligible role.
