Assembler 2- Radiator Technician
As a Radiator Shop technician, you will work closely with production line operators, line leaders, and supervisors within your immediate work area. Your interactions will extend to quality control teams who verify component standards, safety managers ensuring workplace protocols, and the maintenance team to support equipment needs.
About the role
This position is responsible for using a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, and work instructions to perform a series of operations to correctly disassemble, assemble, and test components in the Radiator Shop. Additionally, this role may involve operating equipment including magnetic drill, power washer, driving forklift, light welding, and overhead cranes. Precision, quality, and adherence to safety and process standards are critical to success.
Responsibilities
- Follow detailed disassembly and assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Disassemble, assemble, and test components using hand and power tools.
- Clean and buff, straighten components, and wash components with a power washer.
- Blow out parts to remove dirt and debris.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, perform light welding, and use magnetic drills as required.
- Understand risks and safety requirements at each workstation to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
- Maintain an organized, clutter-free, and safe work area in accordance with 5S protocol.
- Adhere to all overhead crane requirements, rules, regulations, safety, and proper operation.
- Ensure schedules run as listed and work efficiently to meet hourly and daily goals.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) for teardown, assembly, and testing of units.
- Ensure equipment is operating properly and turn off equipment when not in use.
- Perform tasks with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Engage in washing, cleaning, organizing, preparing material, repairing parts, fixing quality issues, 5S, and painting.
- Be willing to be cross-trained.
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to all PPE requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of basic mechanics engineering, hand tools, and machine testing procedures.
- Preferred: 1+ year of experience performing mechanical jobs, assembly, and disassembly.
- Experience working with overhead cranes is a plus but not required.
Skills
- Mechanical training (votech or previous job experience) is a plus but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently in English.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Physical Demands
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Walk throughout the day and stand for extended periods, including full shifts.
- Be on-site during scheduled shifts to perform daily duties and responsibilities.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a non-temperature-controlled shop environment with exposure to varying temperatures and other environmental factors.
Schedule
Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM. This position may require flexibility to work overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.
Pay
The hourly rate for this role is $22.50. The actual salary offered may be influenced by factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
