Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
  • Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Assembles complex RF circuit cards following engineering-level documentation.
  • Develops rework assembly techniques for dense SMT circuit boards.
  • Performs assembly and rework operations on all types of SMT packages including values and sizes of materials starting as low as .0102.
  • Constructs wiring harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies from engineering sketches.

This role is based in San Diego, CA, primarily at the Rancho Carmel site but may also support the Spectrum site in Kearny Mesa. The ideal candidate must be willing to work 2nd shift and possess the following attributes:

Requirements

  • High School diploma and 2 or more years of experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • J-Standard solder certification, or similar experience or certifications.
  • Experience in soldering filters and/or pick and place automated machines.
  • Experience in assembling, rework, and modifying prototype cables, components, testers, fixtures, and chassis.
  • Experience developing rework assembly techniques for dense SMT circuit boards.
  • Experience in performing assembly and rework operations on all types of SMT packages including values and sizes of materials starting as low as .0102.
  • Experience in constructing wiring harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies from engineering sketches.
  • U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active secret security clearance.
  • SAP access/experience.
  • Advanced education and/or experience assembling and troubleshooting RF and/or CNI systems.
  • Experience with shop floor manufacturing systems (SAP, Solumina, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience with ESD (electrostatic discharge) and FOD (foreign object damage) control.
  • Experience with CUI (controlled unclassified information) and COMSEC (communications security).
  • Experience with FAR, ITAR, AS9100, and/or ISO 90001 rules and regulations.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $73,200.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Schedule

This role follows a 9x80 work schedule (0530-1500).
