About the role
Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking an Assembler 1st Shift at our Grand Rapids, MI location. Core hours for 1st shift are 7am - 3:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $20 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Assemble production hardware and incoming repair units while utilizing standard methods, processes, and procedures for both the OEM and Repairs Value Stream.
- Ensure assemblies are built to written instructions or blueprint specifications and completed to scheduled delivery dates.
- Prioritize work to ensure business goals are met.
- Utilize hand tools such as, but not limited to, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers and dial indicators.
- May perform acceptance tests on new, repaired, modified, returned or production units.
- Conduct in-process testing as required.
- Troubleshoot hardware without written instruction.
- Other duties as assigned. May be reassigned to cover workload in other areas of production as necessary.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
- Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids, Michigan will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience in an assembly role or manufacturing setting or comparable field.
- Associate Degree in Technical Field or equivalent from an accredited institution is preferred.
