Assembler 1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Uses work instructions, drawings, schematics, and electronic assembly equipment to perform assembly while complying with safe and effective operation standards of all equipment and tools.
• Cross-trains in multiple assembly areas and flexes to other similar departments based on business needs.
• Develops and maintains an understanding of the products assembled and their impact on the business.
• Continuously learns the principles, practices, and processes of their job as changes require and similar jobs.
• Participates in team meetings to exchange job-related information.
• Resolves problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on the level and complexity.
• Provides basic training to employees on work instructions/standard work as needed.

Requirements

• ASSEMBLY I: Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1 year of complex assembly or related experience (Internal: Demonstrated Assembler II competency).
• Assembly II: High school diploma or equivalent.
• ASSEMBLY II: 2 years of complex assembly or related experience (Internal: Demonstrated Assembler II competency).
• Assembly III: High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of complex assembly or related experience (Internal: Demonstrated Assembler III competency).

Qualifications

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
