Assembler, 1st Shift
About the role
The Assembler I position involves assembling, inspecting, testing, and packaging finished products in designated work centers. Responsibilities also include inspecting items for quality (such as finish, scratches, and dings), completing paperwork for replacement parts, and closing work orders. Additional duties include receiving and inspecting materials, sorting and disposing of discrepant materials, monitoring inventory levels, adhering to safety rules, and performing other tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect materials for proper part number and finish before assembly.
- Assemble and package products, label them, and close work orders.
- Inspect finished products for proper finish, leaks, packaging, and labeling.
- Sort and dispose of discrepant materials according to established procedures.
- Maintain low/short inventory levels and adhere to safety rules.
- Adhere to and promote all safety rules and requirements.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and 6 months of relevant work experience. Essential skills include reading basic blueprints or work instructions, following established processes, working independently and in teams, using small hand tools, communicating effectively, learning new processes quickly, and differentiating among colors used in visual inspections. Computer skills with exposure to smart tablets are required, as are language and mathematical skills, including reading, writing, verbal communication, and basic math operations.
Qualifications
Education and experience: High school diploma or GED is required, with 6 months of relevant work experience preferred.

- Read and understand basic blueprint or work instructions.
- Follow established processes and procedures.
- Work independently and in a team.
- Use small hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers).
- Communicate effectively.
- Learn different processes and procedures quickly.
- Differentiate among colors used in visual inspections.
- Exposure to smart tablet required.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply).
- Other skills: Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays; ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.
- The employee will use smart tablet, computer, or telephone equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required include vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Able to sit or stand for frequent periods in the same location with some opportunity for movement.
- Requires continual standing/walking, and occasional stooping.
- This position requires the ability to continuously lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds with or without assistance.
- Capable of seldom adding a torque of up to 15 ft/lb.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a warehouse environment, and have frequent standing and walking.
- The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
- The employee will be working near or around machinery.
