Video Interpreter Responsibilities

• Provide effective video remote interpreting service for clients
• Professional and courteous behavior
• Strong ability and passion for interpretation and customer service
• Knowledge of the interpreter Code of Ethics
• At least 2 years of medical interpreting experience

VRI Technology Requirements

• A Windows based PC with Windows 10 or 11 updated to the latest version and have updates enabled for both OS and other Microsoft products.
• A good quality USB headset that has noise cancellation in the microphone
• A stable ETHERNET connection connected directly to the modem

Spoken Language Qualifications

• Fluent and have strong verbal communication skills in both languages
• Must have at least 2 years of medical interpreting experience
• Credentialed in medical interpreting preferred
• Respect for and understanding of our Limited English Proficient (LEP) clients, culture, dialect and beliefs and preferences as it relates to legal/medical care
• Familiarity with the medical profession and its privacy laws (HIPAA) as well as other state and federal laws applied to medical interpreting

This is a contract position in the Interpretation department.
