About the role
Certified Languages International (CLI) provides world‑class interpreting services to thousands of organizations nationwide. The available position is 100% over‑the‑phone interpretation, serving a high volume of calls—primarily medical—across industries such as insurance, finance, utilities, customer service, and state courts. As a freelance independent contractor you will work from home, set your own schedule, and be able to accept calls 24/7 via CLI’s online portal or a landline telephone.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate over‑the‑phone interpretation for CLI clients.
- Log on and off using the CLI online portal or a landline telephone.
- Handle a steady stream of calls, mainly medical, across various sectors.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (SSN or EIN and a photo ID are required).
- Reside in the United States; applicants from California, New Jersey, or New York are not being recruited.
- Prior interpreting experience is preferred.
Pay
Interpreters are paid on a per‑minute basis for every minute spent interpreting. Compensation is issued twice a month, on the 15th and the last day of the month, via direct deposit.
Schedule
This is a work‑from‑home freelance role; you set your own schedule and can accept interpreting assignments at any time, 24/7, through the CLI portal or your landline telephone.
