About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in the areas of academic and social, emotional, communication and behavior skills in an ASD classroom setting.
- Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives.
- Follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with families and staff.
- Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Direct the work of paraprofessional(s).
- Provide instruction in content area in accordance with each student's ability.
- Create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth.
- Establish effective working relationships with students and parents.
- Works collaboratively with other staff members.
Requirements
Valid MN teaching licensure in Special Education; the District may consider Tier 1 or Tier 2 licensed candidates.
Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students.
Preference to experience supporting students with EBD, ASD and/or OHD.
Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district.
Qualifications
Education/Training/Experience:
- Valid MN teaching licensure in Special Education.
- Tier 1 or Tier 2 licensed candidates may be considered.
- Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students.
- Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district.

Pay & Benefits Information
Salary can range anywhere between $52,020 to $126,971 depending upon education level and experience.
