About the role

The Managing Director (RN) position is key to assuring high quality, convenient and cost-effective patient care at the Ankeny Medical Park Surgery Center (AMPSC). This role partners with the Governing Board to oversee administrative operations and clinical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally and positively represents the facility by supporting and speaking on behalf of the organization for delivery of clinical care including clinical pathway, staffing plans, and patient services.
  • Leads, manages, and supports staff to maintain a positive and ethical work climate by demonstrating the highest ethical standards in the role which is conducive to attracting, retaining, and motivating a group of quality professionals.
  • Understands the organization’s financial position and provides meaningful data for the quarterly financial and operating reports presented to the Governing Board.
  • Partners with and serves as the operational liaison with physicians and members of the Governing Board.
  • Assumes responsibility for development, implementation and evaluation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to achieve strategic plan as approved by the Governing Board.
  • Manages administrative services (with support of third-party support professionals) in the areas of budgeting, credentialing, accounting, purchasing, insurance, employment, and marketing needed for the efficient operation.
  • Ensures high quality medical care is provided by working with the Nurse Managers and Quality Specialist Quality Coordinator to identify problem areas in delivery of patient care and works toward solutions.

Requirements

  • Must be an RN with OR experience preferred.
  • Must have medical management experience in a similar role or surgery center setting.
  • Work on your feet and in an office for a minimum of 8-10 hours as needed based on capacity over required oversight.
  • Identify problems, and conflicts and work proactively towards resolution.
  • Partner with current leadership to continue outstanding results.
  • Perform financial analysis, accounting functions, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Have proficiency in typing and using computers.
  • Able to adjust your schedule to ensure department work gets done.
  • Support your staff with your RN experience.
