Art Supervisor (Pharma Experience Required)

About the role
The Art Supervisor (AS) is an active contributor to the creative team, taking full responsibility for concept and art/design development across various projects ranging in complexity and scope. The AS serves as a direct liaison between creative and junior/mid-level account team members, focusing on meeting strategic and creative expectations. This role requires a solid understanding of FDA regulations and pharmaceutical promotion requirements across all communication channels, as well as an intimate knowledge of marketing and advertising principles to ensure work achieves its full potential while adhering to brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and elevate art/design across the team, adding value wherever possible.
- Provide constructive feedback to junior-level creatives to advance creative work from both copy and art perspectives.
- Develop a wide range of creative solutions for projects of varying scope, complexity, and channel to create a cohesive brand experience.
- Apply advanced design principles to distill complex scientific information into compelling, clear data visualizations.
- Estimate individual hours (for oneself and direct reports) for a variety of projects.
- Adhere to file-building and management best practices, including The One Intouch Process.
- Monitor workload of direct reports to ensure quality and timelines are met.
- Apply accessibility best practices to all work.
- Mentor and grow junior team members, expanding their industry knowledge.
- Develop a growing knowledge of clients’ businesses and the impact of creative work.
- Collaborate proactively with planning, UX, and development teams to ensure alignment.
- Build strong relationships with creative, account management, product management, production, studio, and cross-functional teams.
- Confidently present and help sell ideas to clients.
- Contribute to new business efforts.
- Develop multichannel creative that displays strong conceptual thinking, strategic/business acumen, and finely crafted designs.
- Leverage emerging AI tools to support and elevate creative work.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development and inclusive behaviors.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in art direction or design.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe InDesign, with the ability to execute design work across digital and print formats.
- Experience with pharmaceutical promotion and FDA regulations.
- Strong conceptual skills and strategic/business acumen.
- Mastery of file-building and management best practices.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
- Experience in estimating project hours and managing utilization targets.
- Industry experience including launches, label updates, and multichannel creative development.

Pay
If this job posting includes a base salary range, it represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position within the U.S. The actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location to account for comparative cost of living. This role is eligible for hire in select U.S. locations based on business and operational considerations.
