About the Role

This position is responsible for reviewing all screen print and embroidery graphics to ensure they are brand-compliant and production-accurate. The proofer verifies that all instructions from the Graphic Artist are followed, confirming accuracy in artwork, naming conventions, spelling, logos, and verbiage. Proofers also ensure files are correctly loaded into the KERP License database for licensing and factory use. The role requires working efficiently, multitasking, and adapting to shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies order specifics, including logo code, team codes, correct PMS ink colors or thread colors, size restrictions, and location restrictions.
  • Confirms refer-to information from art setup files provided by Creative.
  • Checks spelling visually against provided logo slicks and other reference materials using dictionaries, maps, and online licensing resources on the Macintosh server.
  • Validates special information regarding teams and locations, such as established dates, team rosters, playoff schedules, and school locations.
  • Manages orders in the KA workflow tracker and assists with departmental organization.
  • Collaborates with scheduling and management to prioritize proofing orders to meet art completion deadlines and production timelines, including rush orders.
  • Understands server layout and the process for art record creation in the KERP database to house each art file.
  • Applies knowledge of screen print and embroidery processes and theory across all order types, including leagues, customers, brands, graphic design line samples, rush orders, and contingency orders.
  • Maintains proofing goals of 50-60 designs per day and meets monthly departmental targets after the training period.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • General knowledge of Macintosh and PC computers.
  • Knowledge of screen print or embroidery is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
