Production Operator – Paint Processor

Starting pay: $23.02 hourly, with a $1.00 shift differential.

Schedule

  • 2nd shift: 3PM–11PM, Monday through Friday
  • Occasional overtime required
  • Training on 1st shift (7 AM–3 PM, Monday through Friday) for the first 6–8 weeks

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety rules and standard safety practices
  • Operate mixing and processing equipment according to production instructions
  • Accurately add raw materials to batches in the correct order and amounts
  • Use forklifts and other material handling equipment to move and stage materials
  • Monitor batches during processing to ensure quality standards are being met
  • Perform quality checks and make adjustments to color, viscosity, or strength as directed
  • Transfer materials between tanks or vessels using pumps and transfer hoses
  • Record batch information such as temperatures, mix times, speeds, and adjustments

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn production and inventory systems
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and accurately document work
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and shades
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented attitude with a strong focus on safety and quality
  • Ability to complete required safety and job-specific training
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and move over, under, and around production equipment
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting hoses, manipulating valves, operating and adjusting equipment, stacking pallets, and carrying materials
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 80 lbs. occasionally

  • Computers and scanning equipment
  • Strainer systems, pumps, and holding vessels

Work Environment & Safety

  • Manufacturing facility handling water-borne and solvent-based materials
  • Fast-paced production environment
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe footwear
