About the role

As an Armed Response Patrol Security Officer in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Government. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, support access control, and respond to security-related concerns at a government transportation location. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture through teamwork and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at government transportation locations.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as assigned, and document visitor activity, incidents, and patrol observations in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain a professional armed presence while performing assigned duties and following applicable laws, company policies, and site-specific post orders.

Requirements

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
