Security Officer - Weekdays Full Time

About the role

As a Security Officer Full Time Screening in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government location, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and communicating clearly with the public and site personnel. Your visible presence and attention to detail will help deter security-related incidents while supporting smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government location by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate
• Screen individuals and belongings entering the facility using designated screening equipment and procedures, reporting prohibited items or irregularities to the appropriate personnel
• Verify access credentials, direct visitors to appropriate locations, and maintain orderly entry procedures in accordance with site requirements
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and communicating with supervisors and/or emergency responders as needed
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry areas, public spaces, and the facility perimeter to help identify and report security-related concerns

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only

Pay & Schedule

Pay Rate: $18.75 / Hour. Schedule: DayTime, Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM.
