Armed Security Officer Response Patrol

Job Description

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.

Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and public agencies as needed.

Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential security-related concerns.

Monitor access points, restricted areas, and public-facing spaces to help support authorized entry, assist with crowd and passenger flow, and report suspicious behavior, unattended items, and/or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Have at least 3 years of experience as Military Police, a Corrections Officer, or an armed security-related professional, or be a Certified Law Enforcement Graduate.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge, an Associate Degree, 60 college credits, a Police Academy Certificate, or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
