Responsibilities

Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Professional supporting a dynamic educational location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain required logs, and handle assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, training, and site-specific requirements.

Requirements

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security experience is required.
• An Armed Guard Card/License is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
