Armed Security Officer - Access Control

About the role

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you will work at a government location, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, responding to incidents, and providing customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, residents, staff, and/or contractors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and other security-related policies.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and/or critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with supervisors, first responders, and/or site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents and verify credentials, document observations, and report security-related concerns.
• Carry assigned defensive equipment, including an authorized firearm, and perform all duties in alignment with Allied Universal standards, applicable laws, and site requirements.

Requirements

• Possess 1+ years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A state, county, and/or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Skills

• Ability to follow security-related policies and procedures.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies.
• Knowledge of defensive equipment and its proper use.
