Job Skills / Requirements

• Current and valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or LEOSA authorization
• Law enforcement or military experience preferred
• Part-time Armed School Security Officer position in Jackson County
• Hourly position paid biweekly at $27.23 per hour
• Position operates during the school year and pauses during summer break
• Additional hours available at other DK Security locations
• Must maintain availability for other work opportunities during school breaks
• Background screening and drug testing required at time of hire
• Must possess and maintain a clean and professional appearance
• Maturity, reliability, professionalism, and care, patience, and confidence required

Responsibilities

• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols
• Monitor assigned posts and access points
• Identify and report suspicious activity
• Support safety planning and coordination with school staff
• Maintain a safe environment for students, staff, visitors, vendors, and clients
• Respond professionally and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns
• Maintain a visible, alert, and professional security presence on site

Qualifications

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, patrol, and move quickly when responding to emergencies
• Must be certified in CPR or willing to become certified
• Must be able to perform CPR and other emergency response duties as required
• Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate tools, radios, and other security equipment
• Must demonstrate sound judgment, emotional control, and the ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure
• Must be able to safely, responsibly, and professionally carry and use a firearm in accordance with law, client expectations, and DK Security policy
• Must maintain a clean and professional appearance in accordance with DK Security company policy
• Must act professionally, communicate respectfully, and remain kind, courteous, and service-oriented in all interactions
