Armed School Security Officer

About the role

Cardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Armed School Security Officers to facilitate a safe learning environment and protect students, staff, and faculty from violence.

Responsibilities

• Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador: Be on time. Look sharp in proper uniform. Be engaged. Be consistent
• Walks up to 10,000 steps per day to patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism
• Coach and mentor students
• Incident Management and verbal de-escalation
• Maintains orderly flow of foot traffic in the hallways
• Makes reports on maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel
• Acts as First responder for emergencies
• Stands post at secondary locations as required
• Identifies and reports suspicious activity
• Cultivates positive relationships with staff and students
• Access Control
• Monitor CCTV

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of five years of armed security experience
• Must possess prior experience in any of the following: Municipal Police Officer, State Trooper, Federal Police Officer, Military Police and/or Master at Arms, Military experience with a rank requiring a sidearm
• Must possess a valid PA Act 235 Certification
• Must possess a valid PA Concealed Carry Permit
• Must possess your own firearm that meets requirements and a Level 3 holster
• Must be able to pass firearms qualification course
• Able to work well under pressure
• High School Diploma or GED
• Able to pass drug screen and complete criminal background investigation
• No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude
• Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
• Able to provide reliable means of transportation
• Able to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• PA Act 235 Certification
• PA Concealed Carry Permit
• Valid PA Driver’s License
• Active cell phone with mobile email access
• Professional and courteous demeanor

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Knowledge of school safety protocols
• Experience with incident management and verbal de-escalation
• Ability to monitor CCTV systems

Pay

$25.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday – Friday 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Schedule includes regular school hours plus occasional after-school and weekend events
