Job Summary
Protect the principal against possible threats. Responsibilities include federal building access control, employee and visitor identification checks, security equipment monitoring, roving patrols, surveillance camera monitoring, providing detailed reports, using magnetometer and X-ray machines, communicating via two-way radios, performing CPR or first aid, ensuring credentials are maintained, and performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Able to obtain suitability and/or clearance
- A United States citizen; or a Lawful Permanent Resident with an honorable discharge from the US Armed Forces
- A minimum of two (2) years of security (armed) experience or one (1) year of law enforcement experience in a full-duty status with a full-service police department
- A minimum of two (2) years as a member of any US Armed Forces with an honorable discharge
- Fluently speaks, reads, and comprehends English
- Qualifies with a revolver or semi-automatic firearm
- Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service-driven mindset
- Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day
- Ability to communicate clearly and calmly in stressful situations
- Remain on post up to four (4) consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or receiving a break
- Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours and react quickly to unexpected and dangerous situations
- Subdue violent or potentially violent individuals or intervene in a crisis
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- CPR/American Red Cross Certification

- O.C. Aerosol Spray CPR/American Red Cross Certification

Physical Demands
- Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day
- Frequent contact with general public, law enforcement, and dispatch center
- Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours
- Ability to mentally and physically react quickly to a variety of unexpected and dangerous situations
- Occasional running, sprinting, lifting heavy weights, moving heavy objects, climbing stairs
