Job Summary
Protect the principal against possible threats in federal buildings. Responsibilities include access control, monitoring security equipment, and providing detailed reports.
Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activities
- Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents
- Use magnetometer and X-ray machines
- Communicate using two-way radios
- Perform CPR or first aid as needed
- Ensure credentials are maintained according to contract requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Able to obtain suitability/clearance
- A United States citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with honorable discharge from the US Armed Forces
- Minimum of two years of security experience or one year of law enforcement experience
- Fluent in English, able to compose written reports
- Qualify with a revolver or semi-automatic firearm
- Strong knowledge of the security industry
- Educated to high school diploma level
- Tri-annual refresher training and MEB certification required
- Initials weapon training and DHS suitability required
Physical Demands
- Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping
- Contact with general public, law enforcement, and dispatch center
- Ability to remain alert and alert for up to 12 hours
- Ability to subdue violent or potentially violent individuals
