The Ned NoMad

The Ned NoMad is a members' club and hotel set to open in the heart of New York in summer 2022. It will be the first international 'Ned' site following the launch of The Ned London in 2017. Located in The Johnston Building and previously the NoMad Hotel, the property was built in 1903 as a store and office building. The original architectural features will be honored, with interiors designed by the Soho House Design team.

The Ned NoMad will offer a mix of members-only and public spaces, including 167 bedrooms and suites. Ned's Club will provide access to a rooftop bar and terrace restaurant, along with a first-floor bar, grill, and lounge with live entertainment from The Atrium Stage, seven nights a week. New to the property will be Cecconi's, a modern-day classic Italian restaurant.

The Role

We are seeking a Food Runner to support and report directly into the General Manager. This is a fast-moving business requiring an individual who can be autonomous and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Our culture is both pacey and supportive, emphasizing excellent communication and engagement.

Main Duties

• Work collaboratively with FOH and BOH to ensure service runs smoothly and dishes are served in a timely manner
• Serve tables in accordance with company standards
• Responsible for stocking and maintaining runner stations
• Detail dishes and ensure plates meet Company standards
• Deliver bread and offer sparkling or still water to all tables in assigned section or others as needed
• Support other floor team members with clearing tables between each course and re-setting for each seating
• Complete side work before and after service
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

Requirements

• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced and professional environment
• Previous high-volume restaurant experience or willingness to learn
• Proven success of “champion of the culture,” facilitating excellent communication and engagement
• Team-focused with an understanding of the bigger picture and how you can contribute
• Able to effectively manage different stakeholders and be persuasive

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands
• Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
• Fast-paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to another
• Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 20 to 60 pounds
• Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
• Must be able to use step ladder
