About the role
GreatHorse is a private club in Hampden, Massachusetts, offering a lifestyle club experience without the stuffiness of traditional clubs. Members enjoy world-class golf and amenities such as an outdoor pool, private spa, fitness center, golf simulators, tennis courts, and a restaurant and bar. The club reflects the Antonacci family’s legacy in harness racing, symbolized by the name GreatHorse, inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Gran Cavallo.”
Responsibilities
- Provide an excellent member experience by quickly and accurately delivering orders from the kitchen to members and guests.
- Interact with members while performing service duties.
- Assess members' needs and preferences and make recommendations.
- Become proficient in food and beverage menu knowledge.
- Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
- Read and understand food orders.
- Confirm that each order has appropriate preparation, plate, garnish, condiment, and necessary serving utensils and is complete before taking it to a guest.
- Arrange food orders according to table and position numbers on a tray.
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately.
- Learn and understand all table and position numbers according to the floor plans.
- Act as the point of contact and communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests, including food allergies.
- Understand and complete all side work as required.
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of all food and beverage events.
- Work cooperatively with the expo on duty to assist in preparing plates, garnishes, and condiments.
- Maintain reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with company policies, ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Adapt to changing duties as required based on business needs.
Your Skills
- Experience as a food runner is a plus.
- Follow all steps of the services as covered in training.
- Multi-tasking abilities.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Have a good attitude and participate as a member of the team.
- Must wash hands regularly according to guidelines.
- Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and understand and follow the allergy procedures of the restaurant.
- Understanding of restaurant/club etiquette.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands
- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g., keyboarding, machine operation) most of the workday.
- Required to exert physical effort to handle objects over 30 pounds.
- Required to walk or stand for long periods.
- Work in a confined, crowded space with variable noise and light levels.
