About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store. This position requires a high level of responsibility and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by understanding and practicing safe behaviors, immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
  • Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
  • Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
  • Manage customer safety, including accident prevention, reporting, and emergency procedures.
  • Test all fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after-hours alarms when requested.
  • Treat all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all associates adhere to the Company Dress Code.
  • Ensure all areas of the store are clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard, and assist with daily trash removal.
  • Manage loss prevention efforts by maintaining a high level of customer service presence, engaging associates, and heightened loss prevention awareness.
  • Execute Company Best Practices and maximize productivity by minimizing steps and extra touches when working.
  • Train and coach associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other Front End procedures.
  • Ensure associates execute to Company standards at the Front End, manage the line to expedite customer wait time, and control retail associates' break schedule.
  • Maintain the maintenance and cleanliness of fitting rooms, ensuring all garment tags are audited and accounted for to Company policy, and ensuring go-back compliance throughout the day.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including conducting cash pulls and bank deposits, managing Front End control, and ensuring proper supplies and recovery for the Front End area.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
