Area Supervisor

About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role in the store leadership team, overseeing a specific area and general operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure environment, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front-end supervision, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment
• Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area
• Execute and supervise Company operational processes
• Manage associates and ensure efficient customer service
• Train and coach associates on cash registers and other procedures
• Control associate break schedules and manage inventory
• Ensure equipment and supplies are properly managed
• Teach "Scan and Bag" best practice and ensure salability
• Maintain fitting rooms and ensure compliance with company policy
• Perform administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Fluency in English
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to work evenings and weekends

Qualifications and Special Skills

• Physical requirements: ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, stoop, push, pull, lift up to 25 lbs., and use janitorial equipment
• Supervisory responsibilities: Retail Associates, Stockroom Leads (where applicable)
